Rob Zombie Is Reportedly Rebooting The Munsters

The Munsters. Or at least that s what the internet keeps telling us.
Multiple news reports have pointed to Zombie rebooting the classic horror/comedy property over the last while.
Murphy s Multiverse first reported on the project last month, and today
Bloody Disgusting has added to things by reporting that NBCUniversal s Peacock streaming service is attached to the Zombie project.
According to this latest report,
The Munsters will be a Peacock original/exclusive that will also open in theatres via Universal Pictures/UPHE, much like how Warner is using HBO Max to release its films.

I am a long time fan of Rob Zombie on and off the stage. Behind the camera he s made some badass scary movies: 3 From Hell, Halloween and House Of 1000 Corpses to reel off a few. He s been given the green light to reboot The Munsters and the rumor is that it will stream on Peacock.
Zombie will once again stack the deck with his go-to stable of actors. Herman Munster will be played by Jeff Daniel Phillips and Rob Zombie s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie will be cast as Lily Munster. Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark, real life name Cassandra Peterson will also be in the reboot! Rounding out the cast is Richard Brake, Dan Roebuck and Jorge Garcia.

Sources claim Zombie will likely make the film as a Peacock exclusive to premiere on streaming and in theaters at the same time.
Reports indicate production will begin in early May with Jeff Daniel Phillips set as Herman Munster and Zombie s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, to play Lily Munster.
Cassandra Peterson, also known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, will have a part as well.
