Springfield shooting in Upper Hill neighborhood leaves man injured

SPRINGFIELD – A man was injured in a Thursday afternoon shooting in the Upper Hill neighborhood.
The victim was shot in the shoulder. He was brought to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of the wound, which is not believed to be life-threatening, Police Lt. Julio Toledo said.
The crime occurred at about 4:15 p.m. on Bristol Street. Police remain on the scene of the shooting, which is being investigated by the department’s detective bureau, he said.
“It is an active and open investigation,” Toledo said.
