Prosecutor Micaila Williams said: “Upon arrest, Mr Courtney was heard to tell his wife ‘I’ve done something stupid online.”
In interview, Courtney admitted saying the content of the messaging but insisted it was fantasy and he was trying to get attention from the person he was speaking to.
An investigation of his internet search history disclosed more incriminating evidence.
The bench was told Courtney had no previous convictions.
In mitigation, solicitor Julie Murtagh said: “You are dealing with a 30-year-old man of good character. Not just somebody of good character but someone who has served in the military for seven years.”
He pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, drink-driving and having no insurance.
Mr Corbett said, apart from the two convictions this month, the defendant had previous similar offences in 2011 and 2009.
In mitigation, solicitor Julie Murtagh said Mazur had stayed out of trouble for a long period until recently.
She added that he has sought help from an alcohol support organisation and it was a short distance that Mazur had driven.
She said: “His friend asked him to go to the petrol station to fill up his car and he foolishly agreed. It seems no alcohol had been drunk that morning but there was a lot the previous evening.”
