£7 million new Glen Oaks homes development for Arden

Glen Oaks Housing Association has completed 49 new properties in Arden with tenants having now moved in. Glen Oaks, which was created in 1991 – has spent £10m over the past five years on new homes. Simon Gaunt, chairman of Glen Oaks, said: “These homes demonstrate Glen Oaks commitment to fulfil our promise to keep on building much-needed new homes for our community. “And we readily acknowledge the support of the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, which has contributed £3.9m towards the cost of these outstanding homes. This project would not have been possible without them.” The development - which was built on empty land - is a mix of terraced, semi-detached properties and cottage flats.

They say they will deliver the items to friends and neighbors. Deborah Hightower cried and her body shook with emotion as she looked through her windshield at more than 100 cars waiting in line for free food in the mall parking lot. Most of the people had arrived in the pre-dawn hours to receive the offerings from a local food bank. Some of the drivers and passengers slept in their cars.
