WONDERFUL NEWS : David Allen has chosen a new charity of the year A NORTH Cumbrian hospice charity is overwhelmed after a leading local accountancy firm has announced it has been chosen as its charity of the year. David Allen, which operates across north Cumbria and Dumfries, has chosen Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland as the charity it will support for 2021. The charity provides hospice and end of life care to residents across north Cumbria in their own homes. Like all charities, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland has faced challenges as a result of Covid-19 making it far more difficult to raise the funds it needs to continue providing its vital services.
Very grateful: The charity s Chief executive Fiona Stobart, holding a plaque from the Hadfield Trust A NORTH Cumbrian hospice charity has been helped to continue its vital work thanks to the welcome support of generous benefactors. Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, which provides hospice care to north Cumbrian residents in their homes, has once again been generously supported by Cumbrian organisation the Hadfield Trust. The trust has awarded the charity with a grant of £6,596 - enough to fund the work of a Hospice at Home registered nurse for 12 weeks. This has helped the charity to continue its vital work of providing round-the-clock nursing care to patients in their homes.
