Eastern Kentucky Universityâs Diversity Cabinet in the Student Government Association hosted a panel that was centered around diversity, equity and inclusion on April 7.Â
It was named after Dr. Sheila Pressley, who passed in January of 2020 at the age of 53. Dr. Pressley made a lasting impact at Eastern, as she was the dean of health sciences and always made an effort to push for diversity in all facets on campus, especially in upper management.Â
The event was hosted by SGA director of diversity Britany Bowens. It was opened by Bowens introducing student body president Eyouel G. Mekonnen as he talked about the fight for diversity everywhere. Mekonnen said, âWhat matters most is what happens after this conversation. What matters in significance is what is actionable.â
