A pupil from from a Cornish school has completed a fundraising challenge he set himself - smashing his original target of £1,000. James Elkin, who is a first year student from Truro School, set himself the month-long challenge at the start of May which saw him completing 90km of cycling, 90km of running, and 30km of running. Having originally planned on raising £1,000, James total ended up smashing that target and reaching a grand total of £1,850. James was raising money for Tommy s Charity a charity who provide funding for research into miscarriage, premature birth & stillbirth. Around ten years ago, James younger brother Harry was still born, prompting the Truro School pupil to begin the charity fundraiser in his memory.

Julie Elkins, James mum, said: He s just decided to do this off of his own back to be honest. We lost our little boy Harry ten years ago this year and James wanted to do something quite special because it would have been his tenth anniversary.
