Govt extends all sorts of support to farmers: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said her government is extending all sorts of support to the farmers to help them grow more in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic alongside the measures to make sure that they (farmers) will have food in their houses.
“We’re giving all types of assistance to the farmers, including proper testing of soil, so that the food production of our country can be doubled or tripled to meet their growing demand,” she said in a video message marking the 49th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Krishak League (BKL) on Monday, reports BSS.

Ashraful Islam Shojib, a member of the Jubo League s central committee, filed the case with Shahbagh police on Sunday, according to the station s OC Mamun-ur-Rashid. Young banker and businessman Abdul Morshed Chowdhury became the victim of secret business of illegal money investment of Whip Shamsul Haque Chowdhury’s son Nazmul Haque Chowdhury Sharun.
Sharun lends his ill-gotten money to businessmen through others and uses his political clout to realise huge amounts in capital and interests.
He also inflicts torture on businessmen if they fail to pay back money as per his demand.
