What we know: assault of Delmar police officer, elderly couple

Randon D. Wilkerson, 30, was charged with attempted murder in the first degree, and two counts of first-degree assault, among other charges following the assaults on Delmar police officer Cpl. Keith Heacook and an elderly couple Sunday.  Court documents on probable cause shed light on what police say happened at the home where Heacook was assaulted. 911 calls At about 5:12 a.m. Sunday, the Delmar Police Department was dispatched to a fight in progress at the 11000 block of Buckingham Drive in the Yorkshire Estates community. The 911 caller reported an occupant of the house, later identified as Wilkerson, was fighting with other residents of the house and destroying items, police said. Shortly after, a separate call came from a neighbor across the street who reported he and his wife had been assaulted by a male who was no longer at his home.

Basil Moss obituary

Last modified on Fri 12 Mar 2021 12.06 EST Basil Moss, who has died aged 85, was a perennial character actor often popping up in popular series as authority figures, but he found his best parts in two BBC soaps. He became a familiar face on television as the librarian Alan Drew in Compact, set in the offices of a glossy women’s magazine. The role made him a heart-throb as his character went through various melodramas in and out of the reference library, including a string of relationships, from the time he arrived in 1963 – a year after Compact began – until his departure shortly before its demise, in mid-1965.
