A First-Timer s Trip to Dollywood

Iâve always envied those Theme Park Insiders who not only seem to have been to every theme and amusement park in the world, but who can talk intelligently about them and every ride they have ever ridden in technical detail. Iâve been fortunate to visit quite a few, maybe more than most, but Iâve reached the age where Iâve realized that there are still so many parks within a reasonable drive that Iâve decided I need to get to them and experience them first-hand. In April, I finally got to one of those parks that everyone kept telling me, âYou have to go there! Youâll love it!â
Exactly one year after Dollywood had to delay its 2020 season because of the coronavirus pandemic, season pass holders crowded the park on Friday, excited to be back in time to enjoy the spring weather and celebrations.
Wes Ramey, a Dollywood spokesperson, told Knox News last year s postponement was upsetting for employees and guests alike, but it was necessary to protect everyone in the park. In 2021, he said seeing smiling faces, even if they are under masks, is what they all work for. I can see it in the employees. I can see it in the guests. I can see it in all of us how excited we are to be back to a normal opening, and I think it gives us hope with the vaccines and everything rolling out that we re working back toward coming to some sort of normal, Ramey said.
