Exactly one year after Dollywood had to delay its 2020 season because of the coronavirus pandemic, season pass holders crowded the park on Friday, excited to be back in time to enjoy the spring weather and celebrations.
Wes Ramey, a Dollywood spokesperson, told Knox News last year's postponement was upsetting for employees and guests alike, but it was necessary to protect everyone in the park. In 2021, he said seeing smiling faces, even if they are under masks, is what they all work for.
"I can see it in the employees. I can see it in the guests. I can see it in all of us how excited we are to be back to a normal opening, and I think it gives us hope with the vaccines and everything rolling out that we're working back toward coming to some sort of normal," Ramey said.
