st February 2021, it was announced via Instagram that 21-year-old Ecuadorian-American racer Juan Manuel Correa will be making an inspirational and remarkable return to motorsport this year, less than two years after the shocking multiple-car crash at Spa-Francorchamps in 2019, which saw him sustain serious injuries to his legs and spine. The accident also tragically claimed the life of French driver Anthoine Hubert. Juan Manuel will join FIA Formula 3 for the 2021 season, racing for the French outfit ART Grand Prix.

Juan Manuel Correa says every trial he has overcome in his recovery has led to this moment, his return to racing with Formula 3 team ART Grand Prix.
Correa announced earlier this week that he would be back on the grid, a year earlier then expected, having signed with ART.
The announcement caps a 17-month recovery from the serious leg injuries he sustained when he crashed on the second lap of the 2019 Belgian Formula 2 race.
Frenchman Anthoine Hubert was killed in the crash.
Correa suffered 20 fractures to his legs, as well as fractured vertebra, and spent two weeks in an induced coma.

Making an inspirational return to racing, Juan Manuel Correa has promised to “honour the memory” Anthoine Hubert as he lines up on the Formula 3 grid.
Correa suffered some 20 fractures to his legs and feet in a multi-car crash on the second lap of the Formula 2 feature race at Spa-Francorchamps in August 2019.
Hubert was killed in the accident.
Correa spent two weeks in an induced coma and underwent 25 rounds of surgery to his legs, determined to avoid amputation.
Wearing a brace on his right leg for 14 months, the 21-year-old posted videos on social media documenting his recovery.
