Father of man shot and killed in Paterson: ‘I told him to stay out of the streets’ Joe Malinconico and Ed Rumley, Paterson Press
PATERSON The last time Fritzner Origene saw his son alive, the church-going father and the troubled young man relived a conversation they had many times over the years.
“I told him to stay out of the streets,” the father recalled. “I told him to be careful.”
“He said he was OK, Origene added.
That conversation took place on Tuesday when Stevens Origene stopped by his father’s home to pick up some spaghetti made by his stepmother. Two days later, the elder Origene got a text message from the 22-year-old’s mother saying their son had been shot.

SAN MARCOS (CNS) - An Escondido police officer was injured Saturday on state Route 78 when a vehicle lost a wheel and hit the police vehicle.
The collision happened about noon when a 40-year-old Vista woman was traveling westbound SR-78 in a 2015 Chevrolet 2500 pickup east of Twin Oaks Valley Road, said Juan Escobar of the California Highway Patrol.
For an unknown reason, the left rear wheel of her vehicle detached, went over the center median into the eastbound lanes and struck the Escondido Police Department s Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, Escobar said. The wheel damaged the police vehicle s roof and windshield.
