Srinagar, Feb 13 : Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said she was prevented from moving out of her residence on the Gupkar road in Srinagar for going to South Kashmir s Pulwama district to meet the family of Athar Mushtaq, killed in encounter with the security forces, on the outskirts of Srinagar on December 30, 2020.
In a video tweeted by Mufti, she is seen arguing with a security officer at the gate of her residence asking reasons for stopping her from moving out.

Former chief minister and National Conference president Dr, Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday held a demonstration seeking the return of the bodies of three youths killed in the Hokarsar ‘encounter’ on December 30, and an investigation into the alleged encounter.
This comes days after the Jammu and Kashmir police booked family members of a teenage boy killed in the encounter under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, for holding a demonstration in his village “demanding the return of his body.”

Police said the men – 22-year-old Aijaz Ganai and Zubair Lone, 25, being the other two – were “hardcore associates of terrorists” opposed to Indian rule.

Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar on Monday said the police were nearing a “conclusive evidence” to prove that the three youths killed in a disputed encounter in Srinagar on December 30 last year were militants, and reiterated that “the bodies will not be handed over to the families”.
