After 4 Years, 4G Mobile Internet Services Restored in Jammu & Kashmir
The government of India had cited earlier that separatists and Pakistan-based terrorism as the reason to restrict high-speed internet in Jammu and Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: 4G internet services are being restored across Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after 2 years, a senior government official said on Friday. 4G mobile internet services being restored in entire J&K, tweeted Jammu and Kashmir administration spokesperson Rohit Kansal.

Notably, the restoration of the internet comes after two years when Jammu and Kashmir were put under suspension in a democratic country on August 5, 2019.

Hours after high-speed 4G internet was restored across Jammu and Kashmir today, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah tweeted it is better late than never . People in one of the two newest Union Territories in the country can now surf the internet faster as 4G connection has been restored after over 18 months.
4G internet was snapped in Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 after the centre scrapped special status to the erstwhile state and divided it into two Union Territories, the other being Ladakh. The move was to stop any backlash against the centre s big decision.

SRINAGAR: The Crime Branch Kashmir on Monday produced chargesheet against a “self styled” president of the Daily Wagers Union Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly using fake and forged letter pad of the former Chief Minister of erstwhile J&K Omar Abdullah for regularization of the daily wage workers of Rural Development Department. The chargesheet in the case (FIR No. 32/2014) under section 420,468,471 RPC against the accused Ghulam Mohammad Wani of Anzwala Anantnag was filed before the Court of Forest Magistrate Srinagar, officials said.
The case was registered consequent upon a complaint received from Chief Minister’s Secretariat of the erstwhile state, regarding the use of fake and forged letter pad of Omar Abdullah in 2014.
