Lewis and Clark is getting a new principal for the 2021-22 school year.
The Grand Forks School Board approved the recommendation of an interview team in naming Loren Hoheisel to the post.
Hoheisel is currently an associate principal at Discovery Elementary School where he has served in that role for two years. The committee considered three internal candidates for the position.

The Grand Forks School Board on Monday, April 26, spent a fair amount of time discussing the possibility of delaying a referendum election planned for June 22, but ultimately opted to move forward and ask voters to approve the $86 million bond and 10-mill increase.
While there seems to be broad public support for the 10-mill levy increase for the school district s building fund, there’s confusion about how the $86 million would be used, several board members said.

The Grand Forks School Board last night (Monday) filled a couple of open positions heading into the 2021-22 school year.
Kelli Tannahill was named the next Principal at J. Nelson Kelly Elementary School. Tannahill served as principal at Lewis and Clark for the past six years. She was among four internal candidates interviewed for the job.
Dr. Brenda Lewis was hired as assistant superintendent of elementary education. Lewis serves as Director of Pre-K-12 Curriculum for Montgomery County Public Schools (Maryland) that has an enrollment of 160,000 students. She will be employed at a salary of $159,000 dollars.
