Jian Xu; Xiao-Ping Xia; Qiang Wang; Christopher J. Spencer; Bin He . Abstract: The mechanisms and processes by which subducted slab interacted with mantle plume remain controversial, as direct observation of such interaction is difficult to impossible. Compositional heterogeneity of large igneous provinces (LIPs) additionally makes plume-slab interaction hard to detect. Oxygen isotopes are sensitive enough to trace the source of magmas. Here we provide evidence for plume-slab interaction mainly based on in situ zircon Hf-O isotope analyses, as well as whole-rock elemental and Sr-Nd-Hf isotope analyses, on the Late Permian and Early Triassic A-type granites on the margin of the Emeishan LIP in SW China. These granites show typical A-type

Lordstown Motors First Vehicle Test Erupted In Flames – Orders Are Fictitious Alleges Hindenburg Research

Mar 12, 2021 12:20 EST Forensic financial research firm Hindenburg Research is out with a damning report about electric vehicle manufacturer Lordstown Motors. Lordstown offered its shares on the public market via a merger with blank-check special purpose acquisition (SPAC) firm DiamondPeak last year and the company was brought to the front of press attention over an expected order from the United States Postal Service - which it ultimately failed to win. Show Details In its report, Hindenburg alleges that Lordstown s reported pre-orders for its electric truck are fabricated and come from a company that does not operate a truck fleet. This claim is a part of others that state that Lordstown chief Mr. Steve Burns purportedly paid consultants for every pre-order that his company managed to secure.

Emilia A. Caylor; Barbara Carrapa; Kurt Sundell; Peter G. DeCelles; Joshua M. Smith Abstract: The Upper Cretaceous Fort Crittenden Formation exposed in the Santa Rita and Huachuca Mountains of southeastern Arizona is a syntectonic deposit that has been associated with Laramide tectonic activity. However, the spatio-temporal relationships among Cretaceous sedimentation, magmatism, basement exhumation, and possible flat slab-related processes in the southern Laramide region remain poorly understood. Age controls for uplift and erosion of local topography and syntectonic deposition in response to deformation remain particularly poor. The Fort Crittenden Formation comprises 800?2500 m of locally derived fluvial to alluvial fan sedimentary rocks and records paleodrainage reorganization in response to active tectonics. Changes in sedimentary facies, provenance, and paleoflow suggest deposition in a tectonically partitioned intraforeland basin. New detrital zircon data constrain the timin
