Jimmy Lee Sanchez, charged with breaking into Amherst home and attempting to abduct child, has prior record of break-ins, arrests Updated Mar 15, 2021; AMHERST The man accused of breaking into a home early Saturday and attempting to abduct a 20-month-old child while the family slept was released from the county jail hours earlier, and has been arrested multiple times previously for break-ins. Jimmy Lee Sanchez, 35, who is listed as homeless, is charged with attempted kidnapping, assault and battery, and breaking and entering in connection with the attempted abduction of a child from a home on Spring Street. The family of the child reported to police they woke up to find Sanchez inside their home attempting to leave with the child. They were able to get the child back after a struggle on the front lawn.
