Air Tractor Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Ag Aviation at EAA AirVenture 2021
Oshkosh, WI Air Tractor joins the National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from July 26 – Aug. 1 to mark the 100th anniversary of ag aviation at this year’s EAA AirVenture Air Show. “We are excited to return once again to Oshkosh with our friends from NAAA after so many industry events had been on hold for a year due to the pandemic,” said Jim Hirsch, president of Air Tractor. “EAA AirVenture is the greatest aviation celebration in the world. It’s a wonderful venue to highlight a century of ag aviation and to educate aviation enthusiasts about the importance and opportunities of agricultural aviation.”

Air Tractor has teamed with L3Harris Technologies on the AT-802U Sky Warden, a new variant of its light attack aircraft.
For a decade Air Tractor has marketed the AT-802U, but the Sky Warden nomenclature reflects L3Harris’s contribution.

The AT-802U Sky Warden is Air Tractor’s newest attempt to sell the Department of Defense a light attack aircraft
The combined offering comes ahead of US Special Operations Command’s planned Armed Overwatch programme, which is supposed to host aircraft demonstrations in 2021 to find a new light attack aircraft. The command is interested in buying up to 75 aircraft in total to replace the U-28A Draco, an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) turboprop based on the Pilatus PC-12.

Based on Air Tractor AT-802, Sky Warden system will be designed to perform airborne ISR and other tactical missions in the harsh battlefield environments.
The AT-802U surveillance and light-attack aircraft is a heavily armoured version of the AT-802 agricultural and firefighting aircraft.
It is designed for deployment in airborne ISR, precision-strike, command and control, counterinsurgency (COIN), close-air support, weapons training, forward arming and refuelling point missions.
