Wicked Local Scituate officials have confirmed that a man died on Tuesday afternoon, June 29, after reportedly jumping off the Edward Foster Bridge to cool off. During a press conference Tuesday evening, Town Administrator Jim Boudreau said that Scituate police, fire and harbormaster departments, along with a Fire Department Dive Team that was training in the harbor, were on the scene within minutes after numerous 911 calls came in to the Scituate Public Safety Communication Center at 2:30 p.m. Additional emergency resources from Scituate’s state, local and federal partners also arrived to assist. The man, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was located at 3:45 p.m. about 80 ft. south of the bridge.
