Getting closer : Planning Minister intervenes on Waterloo estate plan

‘Getting closer’: Planning Minister intervenes on Waterloo estate plan Save Normal text size Advertisement The NSW Planning Department is taking charge of the proposal to overhaul Waterloo’s public housing estate after the City of Sydney and the state’s social housing agency failed to reach an agreement over controversial plans to redevelop the site. Frustrated by delays to the plans for the massive redevelopment, Planning Minister Rob Stokes warned in February that he would intervene if a stand-off between the city’s council and the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, over the scale of the development, wasn’t resolved by March 12.

Minister denies toxic office culture

Planning Minister Rob Stokes has declared his office is a harmonious workplace and made an impassioned defence of his staff, while refusing to be drawn on reports 13 people have left in the past year. It came as Labor s Adam Searle was rebuked by parliamentary colleagues for attempting to identify which staff member was the subject of bullying allegations reported by The Australian. Mr Stokes told budget estimates that reports of a toxic environment within his office were allegations based on innuendo and smear . I will not tolerate bullying in my office, Mr Stokes said.
