Remembering Jim Bouma Jim answered his call to serve at PRAISE 106.5 40 years ago and we are so grateful how God used him to touch the lives of thousands upon thousands of listeners. Jim began his radio career at KLYN in Lynden in 1981. After a short while Jim and Sharon moved to Seattle to work at sister station, KCMS, but after 18 months they moved back to Lynden. Jim became the Morning Show co-host at Praise 106.5 and often joked, “I have a face for radio.” Jim Bouma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Jim is known for his love of God, love of life, dependability, sense of humor, loving nature, generosity, and approachability.

Longtime Whatcom radio personality dies

By Joe Teehan January 20, 2021 5:20 pm KGMI Praise 106.5 morning co-host and Operations Manager Jim Bouma died suddenly Tuesday. A cause of death hasn’t been announced. Jim’s bio on the Praise website says he is a Florida native but moved to his wife Sharon’s hometown of Lynden after they met in college and married. They have two sons and five grandchildren. He worked at Praise for 40 years. The radio station is encouraging people to leave messages for his family and co-workers on a memorial page.
