A section of the rural road leading to Gobbles Grove Beach will be reconstructed to urban standards and a separate pedestrian/cyclist trail will be built in phase three of Bruce County’s reconstruction of Bruce Road 25 (BR 25) ,south of Port Elgin, that begins May 25.
The need to reconstruct BR 25 was identified when Bruce County and the Town of Saugeen Shores partnered to develop master plans for roads and drainage in the BR 25 and BR33 area. The $5.2 million phase three work includes new storms sewers, an urban standard road, and a separate trail in the area from the future extension of Ridge St. to Goderich St. (Highway 21.)
