MORE than 120 revellers defied an emergency court order by attending a Traveller wedding after-party in Longford this evening.
Earlier today, armed gardai were called in to ensure a 2,000 sq ft marquee erected to host the gathering was taken down.

Several units of uniformed gardai were drafted in to maintain a watching brief at the site
Local authority chiefs secured a Circuit Court order this morning to prevent the event from going ahead including an order for the structure s removal following its emergence adjacent to a halting site less than 24 hours previously.

It is understood that over 100 guests have attended a Longford wedding celebration party in a marquee that was the subject of a court order.
A number of the wedding party had earlier attended a ceremony at St Mel s Cathedral.
Yesterday morning (Wednesday, May 5), at Sligo Circuit Court, an order was made that the marquee structure be removed following its emergence less than 24 hours previously.
