DC Mojib Benhakim – the first Moroccan-born officer to join the RGP 19th April 2021
Having arrived in Gibraltar from Tetuaon, Morocco, as a 13-year-old, unable to speak a word of English or Spanish, DC Mojib Benhakim later became the first Moroccan-born officer to qualify as an officer in the Royal Gibraltar Police.
“When I arrived, I only spoke Arabic and French so I did not do well in my 3 years at school and, as a result, I joined the Training Centre. However, during my time there, I always felt discontented with what I had achieved in life, knowing that I had yet to reach my full potential and my desire to find an employment where I could help others.”

Vocational Qualifications Launched by the Gibraltar College and Secondary Schools Published: 16 December 2020
The Gibraltar College has this academic year launched a Level 2 City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Hairdressing. This qualification is the next stage in the Hair and Beauty progression pathways planned by the Department of Education.
The qualification provides a direct continuation to those pupils who embarked on the City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Award in Hair and Beauty Studies at the Secondary schools in September 2019 and is also available to students who meet the entry criteria. This particular qualification is targeted at those students wishing to embark on a career in hairdressing.

A group of 29 Gibraltar College students were awarded counselling qualifications yesterday after successfully completing the year-long course. Students taking part in the Gibraltar College-run CPCAB Level Two Counselling Qualification received their certificates yesterday after successfully completing the year long course.
