PAWTUCKET – A special primary election is scheduled for June 8 to replace the late City Councilor Ama Amponsah on the Pawtucket City Council, with the winners of any party primaries facing off July 6.
The Pawtucket Board of Canvassers has also announced other dates related to the election, which is drawing some interest from various people but no announced candidates as of deadline. One person who’s been asked to consider a run for the seat is Ama’s husband, Isaac.
The City Council’s main web page now has a tribute to Amponsah and a vacant space for the District 5 seat.
