Republican City Council Member John Pruett said the Geneva Police Department s 1999 operating budget was just under a million dollars. The 2019 department budget was more than $3 million, significantly higher than the annual inflation rate. Before his presentation, Pruett recapped the discord in the community. A previous work session on policing last month was disrupted by attendees. We re in a divided community, Pruett said.
