For the many residents living in Electronics City and its surrounding villages, their struggle has been of a different kind during the last one year. Ever since the pandemic began, they have not had a single Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (
RT-PCR) facility or primary healthcare centre set up in their area, simply because Electronics City does not fall under the purview of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Residents allege that repeated reminders to the civic body do not work and Palike passes the buck saying that since the area is not under their jurisdiction, they cannot do anything.
