The family alleges that the hospital staff asked them to get injections for the covid patient; hospital counters saying that SAST did not cover those jabs
D espite Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) being a free programme for citizens, many patients are still paying for different medical resources. A
covid patient’s family members were asked to pay nearly Rs 25,000 for injections which they could not afford. The patient ultimately succumbed to the virus.
This is part of the BBMP’s plan to set up triage centres in all the 198 wards so that the pandemic can be managed efficiently at the ward level. Nodal officers from each ward will monitor these centres.
