Hampel, who was diagnosed with Cohen’s Syndrome, had a lot of hurdles during her young life but defeated every hurdle she had, Gould told the news outlet.
Cohen’s syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects many parts of the body and is characterized by developmental delay, intellectual disability, small head size and weak muscle tone, according to MedlinePlus.gov.
In Hampel’s case, Gould told JSOnline.com that she was nonverbal, but she could walk, and she could play, and she showed emotions, and she learned new things constantly.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at approximately 6:20 p.m. near 33rd and Vliet.
Police say the victim, a 28-year-old man from Milwaukee, was treated at the scene by medical first responders for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. It is believed that the victim was engaged in an argument with a known acquaintance when he was shot.
Federal eviction moratorium extended to March 31 amid pandemic

MADISON, Wis. - A federal order which protects tenants from eviction based on nonpayment of rent will now run through March 31 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It was set to expire on Jan. 31.
Lara Sutherlin, Administrator of DATCP’s Division of Trade and Consumer Protection, issued the following statement in a news release: Wisconsin renters should know that they are not automatically entitled to protections under the CDC order. We encourage Wisconsin tenants who are struggling to make rent payments to seek this important relief by submitting their request in writing to their landlord.

The little girl fought for her life at Children s Wisconsin in Milwaukee for a few days before her death. You re not supposed to…you re supposed to get more than 7 years, right? Racine couple faces criminal charges tied to Kenosha protests

According to the criminal complaint, Ziminski and his wife, Kelly, participated in protests and riots in downtown Kenosha which occurred in response to the shooting of Jacob Blake by a Kenosha Police Officer. A review of cellphone video shows both defendants attempted to block law enforcement vehicles that were clearing the area south of 56th St. on Sheridan Rd. because of a curfew that was imposed at the time.
