It s the latest twist in a months-long saga over the flight to Florida, which the governor did not disclose until questioned by the media a month later. She eventually acknowledged the flight, which occurred before she was fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and said she went to visit her ailing father.
Republicans accused Whitmer of hypocrisy, citing travel restrictions imposed a year earlier at the onset of the pandemic and more recent recommendations by her administration against traveling out of state.
But more recently, critics also have accused Whitmer of a cover up and alleged that payments by the nonprofit initially set up to pay for her inauguration may have violated federal rules.

The last of many election fraud lawsuits filed in Michigan following the November 2020 presidential election was dismissed by an Antrim County Circuit Court judge Tuesday.
Antrim County Circuit Judge Kevin Elsenheimer, a former Republican state lawmaker, said the plaintiff, William Bailey of Central Lake Township, had either been granted what he sought or is not entitled to further relief in the case.

Antrim County’s election results are being hand-tallied.
The audit will be conducted on Thursday starting at 9 a.m. by The Michigan Bureau of Elections Antrim County Clerk’s Office and a bipartisan team of clerks. 9&10 News is streaming this on 9&10 Plus, found on the Free VUit app.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s Office sent out a release stating the hand tally is expected to confirm the accuracy of the official machine-tabulated results. Those same results were certified by a bipartisan board of county canvassers.
In a statement, Benson said, “While we know the machine tabulators functioned properly in Antrim, we are conducting this audit to assure the public of what countless officials from both parties at the federal, state and local levels have already confirmed – that this was the most secure election in our nation’s history and the certified results are an accurate reflection of the will of the voters.”
