Bragstad Next Wednesday, 14th Jun 2000 16:55
There are strong indications that Town could make their next move for Norwegian defensive star Bjorn Otto Bragstad. George Burley watched the Rosenberg player in the Scandinavians 1-0 win over Spain yesterday and could well move for the player as soon as Euro 2000 is over. The 29-year-old played left-back last night but is comfortable anywhere across the defence. Centre-half is the area that George Burley is most looking to strengthen with Tony Mowbray and Mark Venus both in the veteran category. The player is likely to cost somewhere in the area of £1 - 2 million.

Town Away on First Day Wednesday, 14th Jun 2000 11:45
Town look likely to start their Premiership campaign away from home according to provisional lists drawn up by the Premier League. Assistant Secretary Adrian Cook said yesterday While it is not guaranteed, I am expecting Ipswich to be away on the opening day of the season . Norwich are pushing for an away day first off too, although their fixtures and Town s are not likely to be linked now that the two sides are in different divisions. The Nationwide League kicks off a week earlier anyway.
George Burley watched the Slovenia-Yugoslavia game last night as expected. It is not known who his target was, although he is rumoured to be looking at specific players.
Two of the five Bolton players have been let of the charges made against them after the play-off semi-final second leg at Portman Road. Mike Whitlow and Claus Jensen have had their charges waived, although Whitlow still faces suspension over his sending off.
