FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney is releasing his preliminary budget for 2022.
“The city’s budget is a reflection of its goals and its objectives. Fargo’s budget reflects our purpose and what we want to achieve for our residents,” said Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney.
Fargo Mayor, Tim Mahoney is calling for various improvements of the city, which include infrastructure, better policing and street level excellence.
One of the main proposals is the implementation of legacy projects to protect the well being of future generations to come.
“2022 is a pivotal year for both the FM area flood diversion project and the Red River Valley water supply project. This upcoming year will be when we evolve from thinking and planning about the FM diversion into real progress that the public will see first-hand as construction of the diversion channel gets underway.” said Mahoney.

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Blue Angels are getting ready for a one-of-a-kind show.
“It’s absolutely fantastic to be back here in my hometown of Fargo, North Dakota,” Blue Angels Commander Brian Kesselring said.
Kesselring says being a part of the Blue Angels is a childhood dream come true.
“It is such a surreal experience and to be here back in my hometown to present the Blue Angels and the Navy and Marine Corp team here this weekend is something that I have to pinch myself that I am able to do that,” said Kesselring.

MINNESOTA (KVRR) A Minnesota Legislative wrap-up with District 4 legislators discusses actions and support they took during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the COVID-19 pandemic upended many Moorhead businesses, Minnesota State lawmakers discuss the resiliency the community had to come back from difficult times,” DFL State Representative Heather Keeler of Moorhead said.
With the Cares Act that went out last summer where cities could spend dollars on providing grants and help businesses that were hit the hardest by COVID-19. Also I think it was in November another 150 million dollars went out to counties to distribute more funds,” DFL State Representative Paul Marquart of Dilworth said.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – United Liberian Association of North Dakota is calling on people to join them in celebrating Liberian Independence Day.
It is celebrated on July 26th, but leaders of the association will be celebrating the 174th observance Friday at 21 18th Street South in Fargo. The Celebration begin at 5:00 PM.
People are welcome to join in learning Liberian culture and even get the chance to try authentic Liberian dishes.
“My concern is to promote diversity within the state of North Dakota and Moorhead Minnesota. We all enjoy life in this place and our intention is to bring the citizens of this place and our people together so that we can get a better living relationship,” Liberian Association President Ebenezer Say said.

FARGO, N.D. & MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) Community activists are fighting for a change to labor laws in Minnesota and North Dakota.
After receiving support from Minnesota Democratic Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar, community activists are asking North Dakota Republican senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven to join forces and stand with the working people.
“Speaking about basic working conditions, pay, or safety are things workers are illegally retaliated for. The Pro Act would hold employers accountable, especially when they punish, harass or fire workers for attempting to organize in improving working conditions,” North Dakota AFL-CIO President Landis Larson said.
