The McKinney City Council will hold a special meeting Monday morning to determine the outcome of the District 1 seat after businessman Stan Penn announced his intention to withdraw from runoff race against Justin Beller.

Developers are breaking ground this month on a $250 million mixed-use project in McKinney.
The District 121 development is on one of the last vacant portions of the 2-decade-old Craig Ranch, a 2,200-acre community that started out as primarily a residential development and has about 4,500 single-family homes.
Development has now shifted to the area of Craig Ranch along the north side of State Highway 121, where multiple commercial buildings are in the works.

April 29, 2011: The 2010-11 flu season was mild, thanks to the vaccine being a good match for the virus, according to public health officials. Jefferson County Public Health Service reported 180 confirmed cases in Jefferson County as of Thursday, while Lewis County Public Health reported 130 confirmed cases.
