New Delhi, May 7 : A tweet by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not gone down well with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and some others in the political circles.
In a tweet on Thursday night, Soren had alleged that the Prime Minister did not listen to him during a phone call to discuss the Covid-19 situation.
On Thursday, Modi spoke to the Chief Ministers of Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the prevailing Covid-19 situation in their respective states.

New Delhi, May 2 : Thirteen top opposition leaders on Sunday jointly called on the Narendra Modi government to launch free mass vaccinations to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, as well as ensure oxygen supplies to hospitals across the country. In times of the uncontrollable surge of the pandemic across our country, we call upon the Central government to focus all attention in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of oxygen supplies to all hospitals and health centres across the country.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday night said that his government will provide COVID-19 vaccine to people above 18 years of age for free. Soren s statement came after the Centre announced a liberalised policy making all adults above 18 years of age eligible to get inoculated from May 1 and allowing state governments and private hospitals to purchase vaccines from manufacturers. Opposition parties alleged that the policy implies that the central government has abdicated its responsibility to provide free vaccines to citizens between the age group of 18 and 45 years. In Jharkhand, the corona vaccine will be provided free of cost to people above the age of 18 by the state government, Soren, who heads a coalition government of JMM- Congress-RJD, said in a tweet.

Jharkhand CM seeks to source from Bangladesh company
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s efforts to source antiviral Remdesivir from Bangladesh-based Beximco Pharmaceuticals has given the procurement issue a whole new dimension.
Soren said he had written to the Centre regarding his efforts to procure the drug from Beximco, as local supplies fell short. The State was willing to procure 50,000 vials at $1 million, he said, adding that it had got a quotation for the same from Beximco. The State’s need was for 76,640 vials, but they had got just 8,038 vials, he said, in a letter on Sunday.
