Picture by Lee Mason A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a knife following a serious assault in Barrow on Saturday. A 13-year-old girl and a boy of 14 were arrested in connection with the incident on Jarrow Street and have since been released on bail. Two air ambulances were called to the incident, landing in Barrow Park. An eyewitness said they left at around 5pm. Another witness reported seeing road ambulances as well as ‘lots of police’ at the scene. Police were called to the scene by the North West Ambulance Service at around 2.50pm.

Picture by Lee Mason THE injuries suffered by a 13-year-old boy following a serious assault in Barrow are not believed to be life-threatening , police have said. The teenager was airlifted to Alder Hey Children s Hospital in Liverpool following the incident on Jarrow Street yesterday. A 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were arrested and remain in police custody. Cumbria Constabulary said the injuries were believed to have been caused by a knife. Police have reiterated their appeal for witnesses to the incident - asking people who have not yet spoken to them and were on Jarrow Street between 2.45pm and 3pm yesterday to come forward.
