KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Questions from the KSHB 41 News I-Team led to the discovery of a sealed envelope containing evidence never made public in the 2018 fatal police shooting of an Overland Park teen.
The shooting death of John Albers took place at a south Overland Park home in January 2018. It happened as the reported suicidal teen backed his familyâs van out of the garage while police responded to his home for a welfare check.
After reviewing an internal investigation and a report compiled by the Johnson County Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Team, prosecutors declined to charge the officer involved in the shooting, Clayton Jenison.

Merriam Police and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating after a man’s body was found in a wooded area near 75th Street and Interstate 35 early Monday morning.
Recorded radio traffic at about 2:45 a.m. indicates police were notified of a possible dead body near a homeless encampment about a quarter-mile north of Concrete Materials Inc., 9900 West 75th Street.

A 26-year-old man is in custody in connection with an Overland Park homicide investigation after leading Olathe Police on a high-speed chase late Monday evening.
In a news release, Olathe Police Captain Ryan Henson says officers were dispatched to an address in the 800 block of North Hamilton Street to assist Overland Park Police with contacting a person of interest in a homicide investigation.
