Sky News announces maternity cover for Sophy Ridge On Sunday

Former politician and broadcaster Trevor Phillips will stand in for Sophy Ridge as host of her Sunday politics show on Sky News while she is on maternity leave.
Ridge’s final show before her leave begins will be on Sunday, with Phillips taking over the hot seat from the following Sunday May 23.
Phillips, a former head of current affairs at ITV station LWT, won Royal Television Society awards for his journalism in 1988 and 1993.

Trevor Phillips will stand in for Sky News Sophy Ridge as host of her Sunday politics show while she is on maternity leave.
The veteran broadcaster and former politician will take over the hot seat of the flagship programme from May 23 after Ms Ridge s final show this Sunday.
Mr Phillips, a former head of current affairs at ITV station LWT, won Royal Television Society awards for his journalism in 1988 and 1993.
His four-part programme in 1998, marking 50 years since the arrival in Britain of the MV Empire Windrush, won the documentary series prize in 1998.
In 2020, he was shortlisted in the British Journalism Awards for comment writer of the year.
Brad Walker and Extended announce the release of their debut concert film, recorded at Esplanade Studios in January 2021. The film is the culmination of an ongoing collaboration between two of the most compelling forces on the New Orleans creative music scene: Walker, with a decade of award-nominated and nationally reviewed records, and Extended, which features three of the leading lights of the jazz scene in New Orleans: Oscar Rossignoli (piano), Matt Booth (bass), and Brad Webb (drums). This project is the result of their extensive work together during the Covid-19 shutdown, the culmination of which is this brand-new set of unique, compelling original music, developed in isolation during some of the darkest months of the pandemic.
Atlanta police warn that robbers are using gay dating apps to target victims
Suspects have allegedly arranged to meet victims in isolated areas, only to turn around and rob victims.

Atlanta police are warning members of the local LGBTQ community to be cautious due to a string of robberies in which victims were held at gunpoint and carjacked by people they met using the gay dating app Grindr.
On Wednesday, Atlanta police said they’d identified at least eight people who were robbed since February, calling it “a very concerning pattern.” Investigators released photos of two suspects, but said that there could be other perpetrators involved, noting that some incidents may have gone unreported.
