After being told by doctors that she may only have between three to six months to live following her battle with intro-abdominal cancer, plans for Laura Ogilvie’s dream wedding with fiancé John Mclennan have been accelerated.
With the 32-year-old’s health deteriorating towards the end of May, which included several trips to the hospital, medics discovered her aggressive form of cancer had spread to her liver.

With spring in the air and the public health restrictions lifting, the team are back up and running at east end horticultural haven. Skills co-ordinator John McLennan says he is glad to be welcoming residents back. With mental wellbeing under strain from the year-long pandemic the Belville team want to give as many opportunities as possible for people to get back out and about. John said: We know that mental health is going to be a big issue so we are looking at ways that we can help people get back out safely.
A RARE 18-carat gold pocket watch is set to be auctioned off. The ‘Gold Full Hunter Chronometer Pocket Watch’ by John McLennan will be auction off next week at Witham Auctions. The watch has remained in the property of the same family for four generations. John Nunn, from Witham Auctions, believes the watch is of “significant importance” to collectors. The watch is estimated to be worth between £7,000 and £10,000. John McLennan was a renowned chronometer maker and is known for producing the smallest pocket chronometer ever made. He was awarded the prize medal for great skills and general excellence in the International Exhibition 1862 for his miniature chronometer.
