The coronavirus pandemic has claimed the life of David ‘Dido” Vega, the area representative for Corozal Bay, Belize.
He passed away Friday morning due to complications from COVID-19.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister John Briceno had called on the nation to pray for Vega who was in critical condition at hospital.
He had to be intubated as he began experiencing breathing problems.
Briceno said Vega will be given a State funeral and all flags will be flown at half mast across the country until the date of his funeral.
