Corvias Foundation, a private foundation founded by Corvias CEO John Picerne to support education opportunities for military families, today announced it awarded a college scholarship worth up to $50,000 to high school senior, Brianna Soto, the daughter of an active duty service member stationed at Fort Polk. Brianna joins six other military-connected students who make up the 16th class of Corvias Foundation scholarship recipients. Each recipient will be attending a four-year college or university of their choice.

The University of North Georgia is one institution in the Georgia system where contractor Corvias operates residence halls.
Months after the University System of Georgia engaged in a back-and-forth over a financial proposal with the company that operates some of its dormitories, the contractor said it wouldn t be cleaning adequately to meet state health department guidelines for the pandemic, according to newly disclosed emails and notes from university staff members. The company cut its staffing, and university employees began noticing maintenance issues in company-operated dorms, the documents indicate.

On June 24, three Fort Bragg families filed complaints against Corvias and its partners. The plaintiffs dismissed their claims Sept. 1 against Corvias founder John Picerne and Heather Fuller, operations director for Corvias at Fort Bragg, but amended the complaint for Corvias and its affiliates to remain on the complaint. The remaining defendants include Corvias Group LLC; Bragg Communities LLC; Corvias Management-Army LLC; Bragg-Picerne Partners LLC; Corvias Military Living LLC; and Corvias Construction.
