Banbury man hit with £500 bill after being clocked driving more than 100mph on road in South Northamptonshire

Updated Tuesday, 26th January 2021, 10:34 am John Isles, 64, was snapped by speed cameras doing 109mph in an Audi A6 on the 70mph A43 Silverstone Bypass on May 27, 2020. Isles, from Banbury, pleaded guilty to the offence in November and was fined £438 when he appeared at Wellingborough Magistrates Court earlier this month. He was also ordered to pay a £43 surcharge to fund victim services plus £85 costs, and had six penalty points added to his licence. Magistrates landed a Banbury man with a £566 bill after he was clocked travelling more than 100mph on the A43 in South Northamptonshire during the lockdown last year. Speeding is one of the ‘Fatal Four’ offences alongside not wearing a seatbelt, drink-driving and using a mobile phone behind the wheel which contribute most to deaths and serious injuries on the roads.
