8-year-old boy dies in accidental shooting in Goodlettsville WTVF and last updated 2021-07-07 16:54:23-04 GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Goodlettsville Police officials are investigating an apparent accidental shooting that killed an 8-year-old boy. WTVF The incident happened at a home in the Long Hollow Place subdivision Wednesday morning. Officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting at the home on the 100 block of Elizabeth Court around 9:15 a.m. They found the child injured by what appeared to be an accidental gunshot wound. He was transported to an area medical center and later died. He was a Madison Creek Elementary School student. MCE Principal Jon Duncan sent the following note to parents about Brayden s death.

Goodlettsville community mourns 8-year-old boy who died in accidental shooting Kaylin Jorge, Maggie LaMere An 8-year-old child in Goodlettsville has died following an accidental shooting Wednesday morning. Police tell FOX 17 News first responders were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m. in the Long Hollow Place Subdivision.  Once on the scene, it was determined that an 8-year-old child had suffered from what appeared to be an accidental gunshot wound, a spokesperson for the police department said. The child, Brayden, later died at an area hospital.  Madison Creek Elementary Principal Jon Duncan posted the tragic news on Facebook, asking the community to pray for Brayden s family and for the school, as they mourn. Duncan described Brayden as full of energy.

PD: 8-year-old dies after accident with gun in Goodlettsville By JOSEPH WENZEL A Sumner County school principal said the child had passed away. The accident was reported in the 100 block of Elizabeth Court around 9 a.m. Madison Creek Elementary posted a message from principal Jon Duncan that the 8-year-old had died. “He was full of energy and a friend to so many at WCE. What a blessing it was to see him every morning at breakfast, where I would pretend to steal his food, just to see his smile light up the cafeteria,” Duncan said in an email.
