Princess Alexandra Hospital - where 12 Covid patients have died in a week. Photos: PA/PAHT Twelve coronavirus patients have died at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in the last week. The trust, which runs Essex Hospital, St Margaret’s and Princess Alexandra Hospital has reported a total of 499 Covid-19 deaths over the course of the pandemic. Between February 1 -7 (the latest available data), 12 patients who had previously tested positive died. The week before there were 28 deaths and the week before that 40 patients in the trust’s care died.

PAHT is appealing for donations to buy gifts this Christmas. Give the gift of support this Christmas. The Princess Alexandra Hospitals’ Charity have started a Christmas fundraising appeal to support their patients during the festive season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) are no longer able to accept physical gifts and are encouraging local people to donate to the Christmas fundraising appeal. Mari-Louise White, head of fundraising at PAHT, said: “This Christmas will be a very different time for all of us and we know that many of you will want to help now, more than ever.
