Pontiac Daily Leader It took a bit longer than expected, but the Pontiac Township High School District 90 Board of Education finally voted on the Differentiated Pathways program at its meeting on Monday. Despite the many questions earlier in the discussion process, the Differentiated Pathways program was approved unanimously. This program is designed to help students with gaining college credit as well as receiving high school credit. An example made was of a student who took a cadaver science class that could have been applied to his high school anatomy and physiology in regard to receiving credit. There was also discussion methods of credit recovery for students who failed a class but were able to take it again. It was pointed out that these cases did not erase the failed grade but did allow for earning credit. It seemed to be a similar method to college where a student might fail a class and take it over. Both grades would then apply to the overall grade point average.
