Top actors and performers have joined hands to save the Hilton Arts Festival.
Hilton Arts Festival, which is known for presenting theatre, music, dance, and fine arts for 30 years in KwaZulu-Natal, is appealing to the public to save the festival by donating.
The festival-like many other businesses have not been able to stay afloat due to the pandemic.
Popular actors and performers such as Dr John Kani, Fiona Ramsay, Greig Coetzee, Nthati Moshesh, and Gcina Mhlope have joined hands in creating a campaign where the public can contribute any amount no matter how big or small, to help keep the event afloat.
Muvhango opens up the industry! By Quincy Mahlangu
SABC 2’s popular drama series is opening up the industry.
Muvhango, created by veteran producer and director Duma Ndlovu, is adding a new addition to the family.
Actress and model Michelle Malange has scored herself the role of Shudu Sibudi, a young teenage girl who’s passionate about life and not too naive.
She’ll be introduced through her boyfriend as their teenage troubles and life story unfolds into drama.
“The year 2021 will also mark the debut of a number of fresh-faced newbies, hoping to carve out a niche for themselves in the industry. We want Muvhango to be a platform of endless opportunities for young and ambitious actors,” said producer Herbert Hadebe.

The most important thing you’ve designed to date: It’s never one object or vessel. My works always travel as characters moving together, broadening into a community of collections. All of them are important; they lead each other in various ways. My recent offering, Ithongo (“Ancestral Dreamscape” in Xhosa), is crucial in directing works I’m currently working on. And so it goes.
Describe the problem your work solves: Memory, or aiding in remembering what’s important to remember about one’s heritage. Preservation of African folklore and using stories as well as objects to attend to discussions about who we are, our experiences, and where we’re headed as humanity. Being able to transmute traumatic histories and platform resolves in this way, through my work is what leads it.
