NZXT Recalls All H1 PC Cases After Failing To Address Fire Hazard
This is the second time the H1 has been pulled from sale, with NZXT recalling over 30,000 units.
PC hardware manufacturer NZXT has officially started recalling all its H1 PC Chassis after it failed to adequately address a design flaw that posed a fire hazard.
The H1, which strongly resembles the design of the Xbox Series X, features a PCIe riser for GPUs to fit in the space-constrained design. This riser features two screws that don t feature enough clearance, meaning they could potentially short a 12V power rail on the connecting PCB. NZXT attempt to solve this issue by shipping nylon screws to H1 customers to prevent the short, but the company has acknowledged that it failed to resolve the core issue at hand.

Users may contact the company to get a repair kit
NZXT is recalling its H1 Model computer cases because of a possible fire hazard. According to the company, metal screws can cause a short in the circuit board, potentially causing it to overheat.
According to the Feb. 12 recall notice at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website, the company has so far received 11 reports of the circuit board overheating or catching fire worldwide. Among the incidents, six happened in the U.S.
NZXT stops the sale of H1 PC chassis due to fire risk

One of the larger manufacturers who make computer cases for enthusiasts and gaming computers is NZXT. Recently, the company announced it was stopping sales of its H1 mini-ITX PC case again. Sales of the same computer chassis were stopped in the past for the same risk of fire.
The problem with the H1 is the lack of clearance between the case’s 12-volt power and a nearby screw that would be a fire hazard if contact was made. NZXT says that it will offer a new PCIe riser assembly to current owners to address the root cause of the fire risk. Previously, the company had used nylon screws to mitigate the fire risk. Recently, company CEO Johnny Hou admitted that the new nylon screws didn’t completely address the issue’s root cause.

The NZXT H1 may have been our favorite PC case of 2020, but it’s had a rough few months. NZXT halted sales of its Xbox One-like case in December due to a “low probability occurrence” of a fire caused by screws connecting its PCIe riser cable to the case. Shortly after, the company started shipping nylon screws out as a repair kit and resumed sales of the case but now the H1 has been yanked from store shelves yet again after a Gamers Nexus investigation showed that the screws themselves aren’t the root problem, coaxing two different units into lighting ablaze.
