Winsley s playing field is sold for £66,500 at public auction

RESIDENTS of Winsley are vowing to fight to keep their village playing field after it was sold for £66,500 at a public auction on Wednesday. They were shocked after the Northfield playing field was listed as Lot 193 in a sale at Barnard Marcus auction house in London with a guide price of £7,500. Cllr Johnny Kidney, a member off Winsley Parish Council and a Wiltshire councillor, said afterwards: “Unfortunately, despite an incredible effort by the parish council and our fantastic community, the auction went ahead and sadly we were outbid. “The fight goes on - we will do everything we can to ensure that they find they’ve just bought a very expensive village green.”
