The L-Cats shot over 60 percent from the floor overall to claim their first state title.
Defensively, Lake Mills was quick to close out on Aquinas when the Blugolds would try to create perimeter looks, and they used their superior size to contest the Blugolds on most shot attempts.
Sophomore Macy Donarski shot 10-of-22 to lead Aquinas with 24 points. Junior Jacy Weisbrod added 22 points.
This result was Aquinas’s only loss this season.

Aquinas girls basketball set new Division 3 State records for made three-pointers to breeze past Westfield 69-45 and advance to tonight’s state title game.
Jacy Weisbrod went 7-of-9 from downtown to set a new Division 3 girls state record for threes in a game. Aquinas is no stranger to setting records like these; Taylor Theusch set the same record with the same number of threes last year for Division 4.
For this Aquinas team, the win in the semifinals is just the beginning.
