Pamela Renee Ragan Thomas left this world to go her eternal home on May 5, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Pam was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Pam is the daughter of Dallas and Betty Ragan, born on Nov. 27, 1970 in Bridgeport. Pam graduated from North Jackson High School, where she was part of the first ever graduating class in May 1989. After returning to school while raising her children, Pam graduated with a degree in secondary education from Athens State University in 2010. Pam spent eight years working at the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, Tennessee before finally realizing her lifelong dream and becoming a teacher at Stevenson Middle School in 2019. Pam cherished the opportunity to teach kids and loved interacting with them in her classroom.

Atomic Credit Union Welcomes John Lambert

Atomic Credit Union would like to announce the addition of John Lambert as Regional Manager. John graduated from Jackson High School, class of 1989, and then continued his education at Ohio Christian University, where he currently serves on the Alumni Board. John has 20 years’ experience in the banking industry, where he has held positions such as VP Business Banker covering Pickaway, Ross, Fairfield, Hocking, Perry and Fayette Counties. “I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to work for Atomic Credit Union. The people I have met so far have been very welcoming,” stated John. He and his wife, Traci, have two children: Lauren, 21, who graduates from the University of Akron on Saturday, May 8th, and Clayton, 14, who attends Logan Elm High School. Their family activities include traveling and watching their kids play sports. Lauren currently plays college soccer, while Clayton is a member of his high school golf team.

Jackson-Madison County School System to relocate central office May 4, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. Jackson-Madison County School officials are making changes for some buildings. Some of those changes being made for students and staff are to provide more space and opportunities in Jackson-Madison County Schools. “Everything we do is tied to our core values: judgment, motivation, courage, support and service. So thinking about using good judgement, did we really want to let a historic building sit vacant,” said Greg Hammond, the chief of staff and public information officer for JMCSS. The historic building that Hammond speaks of is Jackson High School. Currently, it is Madison Academic Magnet High School.

Irwin named ACEL distinguished student - Portsmouth Daily Times

Irwin named ACEL distinguished student Allyson Irwin WHEELERSBURG Allyson Irwin, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, has been named a 2021 Distinguished Senior by the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University. Irwin, along with 13 other seniors, was selected by the faculty and staff of the department for her excellence both in and out of the classroom. “ACEL has outstanding students, and we are excited to recognize these 14 seniors for their exceptional efforts in and outside of the classrooms,” said Dr. Shannon Washburn, professor and chair of ACEL. “We know they will succeed in their chosen career paths because of the dedication they have shown to their academics and community involvement.”
